Seminar #6 - Search for Homes

Today, the Internet provides so much information for prospective buyers. Buyers usually believe that they are viewing the most current listings on all of the different real estate websites. The reality is that searching for homes using other websites (such as Realtor.com) are not as effective as using the MLS (Multiple Listing Service). All of the real estate sites out there begin with the MLS. The MLS “feeds” all other sites! The MLS is what Realtors use to input their listings, so it is always THE most up to date information.

There are a few different ways to search for homes, and the dean has broken them down into two categories to best suit your needs!

1) To most effectively search all listings, you can request a daily email of all listings in the MLS, starting with all the current listings and then every day after that, an automatic mailing of updated and new listings.

Create a REQUIREMENTS PROFILE and get daily email alerts of hot new listings, lisitng updates and price changes.

2) If you would like to begin a preliminary search on your own, you can search the RE/MAX system where you will see a highly accurate inventory of listings (these are lisitngs with all companies participating in the MLS )

This is a fabulous exploratory tool, you can create your own searches using the home finder system, Check it out.
